For companies · Workshop
English for Negotiations and Sales, for your team.
A live online workshop for 3 to 6 colleagues who sell, buy or agree terms in English: with clients, suppliers, partners or head office. Role plays built on the team's real deals, with a Cambridge CELTA-qualified MEI tutor. Two formats, public prices, and a dossier your HR can forward.
Free call. In English, Italian, Spanish or Russian. Camera optional. No sales pitch.
In a negotiation, the sentence you can't find costs money.
Your people sell in English, or buy in English, or negotiate terms with people who are doing it in their first language. Their English is good enough for the meeting. The trouble starts at the exact point where precision starts to matter: the price, the condition, the objection, the no that has to stay polite.
Commercial English runs on register and indirectness, and that's a different skill from fluency. "That could be difficult" is a refusal. "We'd need to look at the volumes" is a counter-offer. "Interesting, let me come back to you" is usually the end of the conversation. Say things too directly and you sound aggressive; too softly and you concede without noticing you've done it. Meanwhile the person across the table is using those signals on purpose, and reading yours.
This workshop covers exactly that: discovery questions, presenting value, quoting and holding a price, handling objections, trading concessions instead of giving them away, and closing. From the second session on, the role plays run on the team's own products, clients and live deals. People go into the next call able to hear what is really being said, and to say what they actually mean.
Two formats
Eight sessions or twelve. Always twice a week.
Live sessions of 90 minutes, two a week, in a fixed slot the whole team keeps. A negotiation runs on reflexes: the phrase has to arrive before the pause ends, and reflexes come from repetition, not from one long day.
€750 for the group
€250 per participant
€20.83 per participant, per hour
€750 for a group of 3, + €100 for each additional participant.
Prices for the whole workshop, invoiced to the company and paid in advance.
Interested as a professional?
You don't need a whole team. Bring together 3 to 6 people at a similar level: colleagues, contacts from other companies, freelancers like you. Each company or professional receives their own invoice.
Both formats include
- A Cambridge CELTA-qualified MEI tutor with at least 10 years of teaching, the same one for every session
- MEI materials for every session, in PDF, which participants keep
- A practical task between sessions, and buyer-seller role plays in pairs
- MyMEI for every participant: materials, tasks and the record of each session
- Regular reports to the company: attendance, how the course is going, each participant's progress
- A certificate for each participant at the end, shareable on LinkedIn
What the team works on
Six things, in the order a deal follows. The dossier has the programme session by session; here is the map.
- Discovery questions. Getting information without interrogating: open questions, follow-ups, and the phrasing that makes a client explain their real constraint.
- Presenting value. Describing your offer in precise commercial English: results, numbers, proof, what makes it different. Not a feature list read aloud.
- Price conversations. How to quote, justify and hold a price in English. Answering a request for a lower number without apologising, and the language that signals your number is real.
- Objection handling. Acknowledge, isolate, answer. The set phrases that buy you three seconds of thinking time, and what to say when the objection is fair.
- Conditional bargaining. The if/then structures that let you trade rather than concede. How to attach a condition to every move you make.
- Saying no and closing. Refusing without damaging the relationship, agreeing next steps, and confirming by email so the agreement survives the call.
The Full format adds four sessions on the hard cases: difficult counterparts and pressure tactics, negotiating by video call, internal and multi-party negotiations, and a final simulation on a real deal with full feedback.
The dossier
Everything HR needs, in one document.
The page gives you the map. The dossier gives you the whole workshop: the programme session by session, what participants receive and keep, how the group and the levels are handled, the reports, the certificate, and the offer for your group with the price you chose above. Written to be forwarded to the person who decides.

How the group works
Levels
Both formats work from B1+ / B2. It's a negotiation workshop, not a grammar course: it assumes people already hold a conversation in English and makes it commercially precise. Some difference in level inside a group is normal and works well. A substantial gap doesn't: in that case we split the team into two smaller groups, or we suggest the right path for each person. Marcus looks at this with you in the first call. There is no test before the call.
One company, or several
Most groups come from one company. They don't have to. If you want to take the workshop with colleagues from other companies, or with professionals you know, you can: the group needs 3 to 6 people with a similar level, and each company or professional receives their own invoice. If you're a professional and not a company, you can take part when the workshop is invoiced to your business. We check the details together in the call.
If someone misses a session
The session goes ahead for the others; the materials and the task are in MyMEI for whoever was absent. The tutor picks the person up in the next session. We don't repeat sessions for one participant.
Reports and certificate
The company receives regular reports: attendance, how the course is going, and each participant's progress. Everyone knows this before the first session. At the end, each participant receives an MEI certificate with the programme completed, which they can add to their LinkedIn profile.
Invoice and payment
A regular company invoice, paid in advance. The price is for the whole workshop, with no extras: materials, MyMEI, reports and certificates are included.
After the workshop
Many teams continue. Negotiating well in English rests on General English: the conditionals, the tenses, the vocabulary of every day. A workshop shows where the base needs work. For teams that want to keep going, there is General English for teams, month by month, with the same tutor.
One person, or two
Under 3 people, the same programme runs as individual lessons at €35 per lesson, or as paired lessons with a colleague at €24 per person, per lesson. Same tutor, same weekly slot, or slots, and the programme adapted to one or two people.
One team, one tutor, and the next deal in the calendar.

Questions about the workshop
What level does the team need?
B1+ / B2 for both formats. It's a negotiation workshop, not a grammar course: it assumes people can already hold a conversation in English and works on making it commercially precise. If you're not sure, Marcus looks at it with you in the first call.
How many people?
From 3 to 6. Small enough for everyone to negotiate in every session; big enough for buyer-seller role plays and a real audience. For one or two people, we use individual and paired lessons.
Can I take it as a professional, without my company?
Yes. A group can bring together people from different companies, and freelancers, as long as the levels are similar. Each company or professional receives their own invoice, so a freelancer is invoiced to their own business. To find the others, the “Invite other professionals” button next to the prices gives you a ready LinkedIn post.
How much does it cost?
The price is public: €750 for a group of 3, plus €100 for each additional participant for the Intensive format (8 sessions), €1,025 for 3, plus €125 for each additional participant for the Full format (12 sessions). The calculator on this page shows the total for your group; the dossier states it, valid for 30 days.
What is in the dossier?
The programme session by session, the materials and the work between sessions, how levels and groups are handled, the reports to the company, the certificate, and the offer for your group. It's a private link you can forward, and a PDF you can print.
Do the role plays use our real deals?
Yes, from the second session on. Participants bring their own products, clients and the deals they are working on; the tutor builds the role plays and the briefing sheets on them, so the language is ready before the real call. Nothing leaves the group.
Is it live, or recorded?
Live, always. The tutor is present, responds to the real group and adjusts the pace. Nothing is pre-recorded.
In what language are the sessions?
In English. The first call with Marcus can be in English, Italian, Spanish or Russian.
When can we start?
After a free 15-minute call with Marcus, as early as the following week, depending on the team's calendar and the tutor's slots.
