For companies · Workshop
English for Meetings and Calls, for your team.
A live online workshop for 3 to 6 colleagues who meet and call in English: with head office, partners, clients and suppliers, on video or around a table. Everyone speaks in every session, with a Cambridge CELTA-qualified MEI tutor. Two formats, public prices, and a dossier your HR can forward.
Free call. In English, Italian, Spanish or Russian. Camera optional. No sales pitch.
They follow most of the meeting. The part they miss is the part that matters.
Your people do their work well, and more and more of it happens in English: the weekly call with head office, the project update with a partner, the client who joins on video from another time zone. They follow most of it. Then someone speaks fast, or with an accent they aren't used to, or three people talk at once, and the key sentence goes by. They have a point to make, and the moment passes while they build the sentence. So they stay quiet, agree to things they only half understood, and ask a colleague afterwards what was decided.
This is the need we meet most often in teams, and it's a speaking and listening problem, not a vocabulary list. The workshop works on exactly that: following fast speakers, whether English is their first language or not, and asking to clarify without losing face; taking the turn and interrupting politely; agreeing and disagreeing in the right register; keeping a video call on track when the audio fails; and saying out loud what was decided and who does what. From the second session on, the simulated meetings run on the team's own agendas, projects and clients.
Two formats
Eight sessions or twelve. Always twice a week.
Live sessions of 90 minutes, two a week, in a fixed slot the whole team keeps. In a meeting, the phrase has to be there when the gap opens, not three seconds later. That comes from frequent practice, not from one long day.
€750 for the group*
€250 per participant
€20.83 per participant, per hour
* €750 for a group of 3, + €100 for each additional participant.
Prices for the whole workshop, invoiced to the company and paid in advance.
Interested as a professional?
You don't need a whole team. Bring together 3 to 6 people at a similar level: colleagues, contacts from other companies, other professionals or friends. Each company, or each participant, receives their own invoice.
Both formats include
- A Cambridge CELTA-qualified MEI tutor with at least 10 years of teaching, the same one for every session
- MEI materials for every session, in PDF, which participants keep
- A practical task between sessions, and short calls in pairs with a colleague
- MyMEI for every participant: materials, tasks and the record of each session
- Regular reports to the company: attendance, how the course is going, each participant's progress
- A certificate for each participant at the end, shareable on LinkedIn
What the team works on
Six things, in the order a meeting follows. The dossier has the programme session by session; here is the map.
- Openings and small talk. The first five minutes of a call: introductions, small talk that builds the relationship, and setting the agenda so everyone knows why they're there.
- Following and clarifying. Understanding people who speak fast, with different accents, or all at once. Asking for repetition without embarrassment, and checking you've understood before you agree to anything.
- Taking the turn. Getting into the conversation at the right moment, interrupting politely, holding the floor until your point is made, and handing it back.
- Agreeing and disagreeing. Saying what you think with the right strength. Disagreeing without causing offence, and hearing the polite no in what others say: "That could be tricky" rarely means yes.
- Video calls. Audio that drops, a delay that cuts sentences in half, cameras off, people talking over each other: the phrases that keep a call on track when the technology doesn't.
- Summaries and next steps. Saying out loud what was decided, who does what and by when, so everyone leaves the meeting with the same understanding.
The Full format adds four sessions on running the meeting: chairing and keeping time, difficult moments and difficult participants, calls with clients and suppliers, and a final meeting where each participant takes the chair, with detailed feedback.
The dossier
Everything HR needs, in one document.
The page gives you the map. The dossier gives you the whole workshop: the programme session by session, what participants receive and keep, how the group and the levels are handled, the reports, the certificate, and the offer for your group with the price you chose above. Written to be forwarded to the person who decides.

How the group works
Levels
Both formats run at two levels, A2+ / B1 and B1+ / B2, with the same structure and material adapted to the level: the format is about depth and time, not level. Some difference in level inside a group is normal and works well. A substantial gap doesn't: in that case we split the team into two smaller groups, or we suggest the right level for each person. Marcus looks at this with you in the first call. There is no test before the call.
One company, or several
Most groups come from one company. They don't have to. If you want to take the workshop with colleagues from other companies, or with professionals you know, you can: the group needs 3 to 6 people with a similar level, and each company, or each participant, receives their own invoice. We check the details together in the call.
If someone misses a session
The session goes ahead for the others; the materials and the task are in MyMEI for whoever was absent. The tutor picks the person up in the next session. We don't repeat sessions for one participant.
Reports and certificate
The company receives regular reports: attendance, how the course is going, and each participant's progress. Everyone knows this before the first session. At the end, each participant receives an MEI certificate with the programme completed, which they can add to their LinkedIn profile.
Invoice and payment
A regular company invoice, paid in advance. The price is for the whole workshop, with no extras: materials, MyMEI, reports and certificates are included.
After the workshop
Many teams continue. Following a meeting in English rests on General English: listening at normal speed, the tenses, the words of every day. A workshop shows where the base needs work. For teams that want to keep going, there is General & Business English, month by month, with the same tutor.
One person, or two
Under 3 people, the same programme runs as individual lessons at €35 per lesson, or as paired lessons with a colleague at €24 per person, per lesson. Same tutor, same weekly slot, or slots, and the programme adapted to one or two people.
One team, one tutor, and the next meeting in the calendar.

Questions about the workshop
What level does the team need?
From A2+ / B1. Both formats run at two levels, A2+ / B1 and B1+ / B2, and Marcus places the group in the first call. It's a workshop on meetings and calls, not a grammar course: it assumes people can hold a simple conversation in English and builds on it. If you're not sure, Marcus looks at it with you in the first call.
How many people?
From 3 to 6. Small enough for everyone to speak in every session; big enough for a real meeting, with different roles and different voices to follow. For one or two people, we use individual and paired lessons.
Can I take it as a professional, without my company?
Yes. A group can bring together people from different companies, other professionals and friends, as long as the levels are similar. Each company, or each participant, receives their own invoice. To find the others, the “Invite other professionals” button next to the prices gives you a ready LinkedIn post.
How much does it cost?
The price is public: €750 for a group of 3, plus €100 for each additional participant for the Intensive format (8 sessions), €1,025 for 3, plus €125 for each additional participant for the Full format (12 sessions). The calculator on this page shows the total for your group; the dossier states it, valid for 30 days.
What is in the dossier?
The programme session by session, the materials and the work between sessions, how levels and groups are handled, the reports to the company, the certificate, and the offer for your group. It's a private link you can forward, and a PDF you can print.
Do the simulations use our real meetings?
Yes, from the second session on. Participants bring their own agendas, projects and the calls they have coming up; the tutor builds the simulated meetings and the role cards on them, so the language is ready before the real meeting. Nothing leaves the group.
Video calls or meetings in a room?
Both. The sessions are online, and most of the practice happens the way most meetings happen today, on video, with its own problems: delays, audio, people talking over each other. Everything the team learns works just as well around a table.
Is it live, or recorded?
Live, always. The tutor is present, responds to the real group and adjusts the pace. Nothing is pre-recorded.
In what language are the sessions?
In English. The first call with Marcus can be in English, Italian, Spanish or Russian.
When can we start?
After a free 15-minute call with Marcus, as early as the following week, depending on the team's calendar and the tutor's slots.
