For companies · General & Business English
Business English for teams, built on the English of every day.
Business English is everyday English, used at work, so we teach the two together. A group of 3 to 6 colleagues, the same Cambridge CELTA-qualified MEI tutor at the same time every week, 90-minute training sessions, month by month. MyMEI for everyone, a progress test every 2 months, regular reports to the company, and a price you can calculate on this page.
Free call. In English, Italian, Spanish or Russian. Camera optional. No sales pitch.
There is no business English without the English of every day.
Most companies ask for business English. It sounds like the right request: the team works in English, so train the English of work. But when a team struggles in an international meeting, the problem is rarely a missing business word. It's the base: a question that comes out wrong, a verb tense that changes the meaning, a colleague who speaks at normal speed and loses you in the second sentence, a simple word that won't come, so the sentence stops.
Business English is everyday English, used at work. The verbs, the structures and the vocabulary that carry a conversation about the weekend are the same ones that carry a conversation about a delivery date. Specialised phrases built on a weak base sound memorised, and break at the first unexpected answer. That's why we don't split the two: General & Business English is one course, the English of every day practised in the situations of the team's work.
From the first session, the tutor builds on the team's week and sector: a call with a supplier, a question in a meeting, small talk before a presentation, a colleague from another office. Speaking first, then listening, grammar, vocabulary and sentence building, where they change something. It's the gap we find most often in companies, and the one that makes every other path faster later: a team that holds a conversation learns to present, negotiate or run a meeting in English in weeks, not months.
Format and price
One, two or three sessions a week. Month by month.
A regular path, not a course with an end date: the team keeps the same slot, or slots, every week, with the same tutor, and continues for as long as the English is useful. The price is for the group, per session, and the calculator shows about how much a month comes to.
€364 approx. a month for the group
About €121 per person, a month
€18.67 per person per hour · €84 a session for the group*
* €84 a 90-minute session for a group of 3, + €8 for each additional participant.
Indicative price, invoiced to the company and paid in advance. A month has four or five weeks: the invoice counts the sessions of the calendar month. Marcus confirms the quote after the call, once he has seen the team and the levels.
Interested as a professional?
You don't need a whole team. Bring together 3 to 6 people at a similar level: colleagues, contacts from other companies, other professionals or friends. You get a regular path, month by month, with the same Cambridge CELTA-qualified tutor. Each company, or each participant, receives their own invoice.
Every rhythm includes
- A Cambridge CELTA-qualified MEI tutor with at least 10 years of teaching adults, the same one every week
- A plan built on the team's work and sector, adjusted as the team changes
- MyMEI for every participant: the history of every session, materials, homework, reminders and progress by skill
- A progress test every 2 months, read by the tutor and Marcus
- Regular reports to the company: attendance, how the course is going, each participant's progress
- Month by month, with a regular company invoice: no packages
How the path runs
What a session looks like
The tutor makes people talk; there is no lecture. Speaking, listening, grammar and vocabulary are worked on inside real situations from the team's week: a call with a supplier, a question in a meeting, a colleague from another office. Everyone speaks in every session, and the tutor corrects where the correction changes something. Materials, homework and the history of every session are in MyMEI, so what was done on Tuesday is still there next week.
Levels
The path starts from any level, including beginners. Some difference inside a group is normal and works: people learn from each other's mistakes. A substantial gap doesn't, because somebody waits and somebody is lost. In that case we split the team into two smaller groups. Marcus looks at the levels with you in the first call; there is no test before it.
Reports to the company
The company pays, and it sees how the course is going. Marcus sends regular reports: attendance, how the group is working, and each participant's progress by skill, from the test every 2 months. Everyone knows this before the first session. If something isn't working, we change it: the plan, the pace, sometimes the composition of the group.
The dossier
The proposal for your team, in one document.
The page gives you the outline. The dossier is the proposal for your team: what the team gets, how the first three months run, how levels, absences and reports work, the terms, and the indicative monthly price for the size and rhythm you chose above. Written to be forwarded to the person who decides.

Four steps
How a team starts
Step 1
A call with Marcus
A free 15-minute call with the person who organises the training. What does the team need English for? How many people, and at what level? When can they meet?
Step 2
A plan and a quote
Marcus matches the tutor, plans the schedule and confirms the quote for the group. If the levels are far apart, he proposes two smaller groups.
Step 3
The team shows up
The same tutor, on the same day and at the same time every week. One, two or three 90-minute training sessions a week, decided with Marcus in the call.
Step 4
We check it's working
Every participant has MyMEI and a progress test every 2 months. The tutor and Marcus read the results and adjust the plan. The company receives the reports.
Invoice, cancellations, continuing
Invoice and payment
A regular company invoice, paid in advance: monthly, quarterly or for a longer period, as agreed. Each month counts the sessions of the calendar month in the team's slot, or slots: a month with five Tuesdays has five Tuesday sessions. A team can start mid-month and pay only for the sessions left.
If a session is cancelled, or someone misses it
A session cancelled at least 24 hours before is moved to another day or time within 45 days, so the team doesn't lose it. If one person misses a session, it goes ahead for the others: the materials and the homework are in MyMEI, and the tutor picks the person up the next time.
Continuing, and what comes after
There is no fixed end date: the team continues month by month, for as long as the English is useful. To stop, a simple email at least three days before the end of the month is enough. The slot can change, but we advise against changing it often, because a free slot with the same tutor may not be there. When the base is solid, a team can add a workshop with a specific goal, like Meetings & Calls, Presentations & Public Speaking or Negotiations & Sales, or move to a custom path for a project.
One person, or two
Under 3 people, the same path runs as individual lessons at €35 per lesson, or as paired lessons with a colleague at €24 per person, per lesson. Same tutor, same weekly slot, or slots, same MyMEI and tests.
One team, one tutor, every week.
Start with a free 15-minute call with Marcus. Tell him about the team and the levels; he confirms the quote for the group, and the training sessions can start the following week.

Questions about General & Business English
Is it General English or business English?
Both, because they are the same English. Business English is everyday English, used at work: the same verbs, structures and vocabulary, in meetings, calls and conversations with clients. The tutor builds every session on the team's work and sector, so the course is called by both names.
Our team already works in English. Why start from the English of every day?
Because that's usually where the problems are. When someone loses a fast question, picks the wrong tense or stops to look for a simple word, no business vocabulary helps. The course fixes the base inside the team's work from the first session. Once the base holds, a specialised workshop takes weeks, not months.
What level does the team need?
Any level, including beginners. What matters is that the people in one group are close in level. If they're not, we split the team into two smaller groups. Marcus looks at this with you in the first call; there is no test before it.
How many sessions a week?
One, two or three 90-minute sessions a week, always in the same slot, or slots. You decide with Marcus in the first call, depending on the team's calendar and what it needs.
How much does it cost?
One 90-minute session for the group costs €84 for a group of 3, + €8 for each additional participant. The calculator on this page shows about how much a month comes to for your team and rhythm; the invoice counts the sessions of the calendar month. The dossier states the price for your group, and Marcus confirms the quote after the first call, once he has seen the team and the levels. A regular company invoice, paid in advance.
What is in the dossier?
The proposal for your team: what the team gets, how the first three months run, how levels, absences and reports work, the terms, and the indicative price for the size and rhythm you chose. It's a private link you can forward, and a PDF you can print.
What does the company receive?
Regular reports: attendance, how the course is going, and each participant's progress by skill, from the test every 2 months. Everyone knows this before the first session. Participants also have their own MyMEI, with the materials, the homework and the history of every session.
Can I take it as a professional, without my company?
Yes. A group can bring together people from different companies, other professionals and friends, as long as the levels are similar. It runs like a team's path: 90-minute sessions, one, two or three a week, month by month. Each company, or each participant, receives their own invoice. To find the others, the “Invite other professionals” button next to the prices gives you a ready LinkedIn post.
Can we stop, or change the schedule?
The path runs month by month. To stop, a simple email at least three days before the end of the month is enough. The slot can be changed, but we advise against changing it often, because a free slot with the same tutor may not be there.
