That’s the B1 plateau, and it’s not something more of the same will fix. It’s a specific, well-documented ceiling: you’ve learned enough to survive, so the pressure that once forced you to improve is gone. You reach for the words you already know instead of the ones you need. You avoid the tense you’re unsure of. You simplify — automatically, invisibly — and because it works, nothing pushes you past it. More films, more apps, more “just speaking” won’t move you, because none of them make you operate above your comfort zone.

This course does exactly that, for 33 weeks. It widens your grammar, builds real vocabulary range, and drills fluency under pressure until complexity stops being something you dodge. Professionally curated materials

Before every session you receive materials prepared by the tutor: a target-vocabulary bank for the topic in hand, model dialogues showing the grammar in real use, error-correction sheets built from the class’s own mistakes, and drills to fix new structures into active use. Proprietary MEI material combined with selected third-party resources. In PDF format — yours to keep, even after the course ends.

Practical assignments

Every session ends with practical homework to complete before the next meeting: recording yourself speaking to camera for two minutes, rewriting a “simplified” answer using the exact words you avoided, putting a newly-taught tense to work in a real message. You’ll come to each session having already put the week’s language into practice — so class time builds on real work, not a cold start.

Coordinated peer-to-peer practice

Some activities between sessions are done in pairs with another participant: timed conversation on a set topic, swapping recordings to catch each other’s habitual errors, cross-feedback on fluency and word choice. The tutor pairs participants and provides a structured evaluation grid — so peer feedback becomes useful and precise, not just an informal chat.
